Since 2014, Wiremind has positioned itself as a technical company transforming the world of transport and events with a 360° approach combining UX, software, and AI.
Our expertise lies primarily in optimizing and marketing our clients' capacity. We work on various projects such as ticket forecasting and pricing, 3D optimization of air freight or scraping competitor prices. Our applications are the preferred tool of companies such as SNCF, United Airlines, Qatar Airways or even PSG to visualize, analyze and optimize their capacity.
Dynamic and ambitious, we strive to maintain our technical DNA which is the engine of our success. The company, profitable and self-financed since its creation 10 years ago, is mainly composed of engineers and experts and currently supports the growth of our business model based on "software-as-a-service" solutions.
Your missions 🚀
Wiremind now runs three products (CAYZN for revenue management, PAXONE for rail booking, EVENTORI for sports and entertainment ticketing), each with its own software team, and shared Data, Platform and IT & Security teams: close to 80 engineers in about ten teams, led by Heads of Engineering, Heads of Data and a VP Platform. This organization grew from one product team to several in a few years, and it now needs a leader whose full-time job is to make it work as one.
Reporting directly to Charles, Wiremind's CTO and Co-founder, you will take ownership of the engineering organization: its people, its ways of working, its delivery and its budget. The heads of the technical teams will report to you. Charles keeps the technical vision, the product strategy and the research agenda; you make the organization that delivers them.
You will not code day to day. You must still be able to read our code, challenge an architecture and hold your own with our principal engineers: at Wiremind, credibility with engineers is earned on the technical ground.
Your responsibility is the engineering organization as a whole: that it delivers what the products need, at a cost and a quality the company can sustain, and that it gets better at it every semester. Concretely, you run staffing, priorities and delivery commitments across the three products and the shared teams, you build with the product teams a planning that engineering can actually hold, and you answer for it in front of the comex in business terms: what shipped, what it cost, what is at risk, what you need.
Three transformations are waiting for you. The first is AI: every engineer at Wiremind works with coding agents, but the rest of the lifecycle (review, maintenance, sizing and scoping) has not caught up, we do not measure the impact, and the practice outside the technical teams is uneven. The second is culture: the company grew from one product team to several, silos appeared silently, and not enough is shared beyond a few libraries. The third is people: career paths for engineers who manage and for those who do not, how to have leaders emerging and a clear company position on our philosophy for hire.
Technical environment:
Backend: mostly Python (SQLAlchemy, in-house task queue), GraphQL and REST APIs
Frontend: TypeScript with Next.js, Angular and React depending on the product, D3.js
Data and ML: PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Elasticsearch, Redis, Python ML stack, in-house forecasting and optimization models
Gitlab for continuous delivery, Kubernetes for infrastructure, Prometheus/Grafana and Kibana for operations
AI coding agents for every engineer
Your profile 🔍
You have 12+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years managing managers in an organization of 50 or more engineers, across several products or business units.
You have built the processes of a growing engineering organization: delivery, reviews, career ladders, hiring, budget, and you can say which ones you would not do again.
You have led the adoption of AI coding agents in an engineering team and can talk about what it changed, in numbers.
You have owned an infrastructure or engineering budget and reported to an executive committee or a board.
You stayed technical: you can read a codebase, discuss an architecture with principal engineers, and tell a good design from a fashionable one.
Bonus: experience with B2B SaaS, revenue management, transportation or ticketing.
